Our offering money from Sunday School goes to a local mission called Storybook Project. The Storybook Project gives incarcerated men and women the opportunity to connect with their children through reading. Once a month, assisted by Storybook Project volunteers, incarcerated parents have the opportunity to record a book on CD to their children. The books and CDs are then mailed to the children, enabling them to have a loving connection through voice and story. The Storybook Project is entering its eleventh year of service to the women at the Correctional Institute for Women in Mitchellville, its seventh year of service to men at the Newton Correctional Facility, and its second year of service to the men at the Correctional Release Center in Newton.
